Steps
Create QR for freeWhat you need before starting
A web address where your menu lives. It can be:
- a page on your restaurant's website,
- a PDF uploaded online (even on a cloud service with a public link),
- an image of the menu hosted online.
If you don't have a link yet, create a simple page or upload the PDF somewhere publicly accessible: that's the destination of the QR.
Steps
-
1
Copy the menu link. Make sure it opens correctly on mobile.
-
2
Paste the link into Yero and generate the QR code.
-
3
Customise the code (colour, logo in the centre) to match your venue's brand.
-
4
Download the QR in high resolution for printing.
-
5
Print and place the code on tables, at the counter, in the window or on the tablecloth.
Why use a dynamic QR code (not static)
With a dynamic QR code the printed code stays the same, but you can change the destination page whenever you want: switch to a seasonal menu, update prices or replace the PDF without reprinting anything. With a static QR, any change to the link forces you to recreate the code and reprint everything. For a menu that changes over time, dynamic is almost always the right choice.
Practical tips
- Minimum size: print the QR at least 2.5–3 cm on each side, otherwise older phones may struggle to read it.
- Contrast: dark code on a light background. Avoid placing the QR on photos or patterns.
- Add a short instruction ("Scan for the menu") to help less tech-savvy customers.
- Test before mass printing: try the code on at least two different phones.
- Track scans: knowing how many times (and when) the menu is opened tells you a lot about your venue's flow.

Yes, with Yero you can create it for free. Generate the code, customise it and download it at no cost.

What size should the QR be on the table?
At least 2.5–3 cm on each side for reliable scanning from any smartphone.
Can I see how many people scan the menu?
Yes, scan tracking shows you the number of reads and trends over time.
